Which song of yours is your personal favorite?
That’s a tough one. I would say it would be my ‘Bringing It Back’ track off my ‘The Growth’ album as that is my biggest placement in regards to publishing and a revenue stream that keeps going till this day.
Who is your top female artist right now?
Damn, I would say Anestasia Hera as I've known her personally for years and have admired her growth from emcee, singer and business woman in a space mostly dominated by men and being able to make a mark.
Have you been naughty or nice this year?
Both. Nice with these rhymes and naughty as hell on these beats.
What are your top three favorite candies or snacks?
Since my kidney transplant, I have tried to limit my snacking but I would say star crunch and apple fritters as they snap. A bowl of fruit any day does the job as well.
What has been the best era in music to you?
To me maybe the 80s thru 90s as the energy was to do it yourself and there was major community support as far as going to shows and people buying your art regardless of if they know you or not. Artists had to self distribute their albums and every one was on making their own label and not waiting to be signed by someone else. We believed in more ownership of the product during this era.
What was the last book you read?
It was a book about the digital era of the music business and how to maneuver within it as an artist to create a sustainable tree from the basic roots of your art.
Which season do you like the most and why?
I love winter as I am always wearing jackets and hats. Ever since I was a kid, jackets and hats were more like a safety blanket thing as I was more into music then playing with the other kids on the block. I like the style, comfort, and coziness of winter.
Have you ever broken a bone, had surgery, or been into a fight/brawl?
I had a kidney and pancreas double transplant 3 years ago but until that point I never had a broken bone or nothing. No brawls or major fights occurred when I came up. Folks knew people's fathers and some of ours had reputations for being good people and some were known as fighters. If we had to fight I more likely would have rathered to fight til the death than go home and tell my pops I had lost.
If you could go back to one time in your life and redo something, when would you go back too and what would you change?
I wouldn't change anything, everything led me to this point in my career. My Dad’s passing was rough, but it also made me remember he taught me the game about hustling and working hard that I still utilize today.
