In the blur of days, we sometimes meet the clearest version of ourselves. With a rush of guitar distortion and reflective lyrics rooted in legacy, emerges NYC-based duo Pry. “So Good” is a fuzz-soaked, lyrically sharp single pulled from their highly anticipated debut album Wrapped In Plastic, due May 29. The band, composed of Simeon Beardsley and Amara Bush, balance chaos and clarity, blending synth sprinkles and bold instrumentation towards rediscovery of self. Inspired by an unfinished poem written by Simeon’s grandfather, “So Good” is as much about memory as it is about motion. They shared:

‘So Good’ is about being reintroduced to yourself after living in a blur. It was lightly inspired by an unfinished poem by Simeon’s grandfather called ‘ten roses’ and reading into the lines left blank.

Pry’s sonic textures remain sharp and compelling, with their signature mix of shoegaze fuzz, nu-metal drive, and soft-grit vocals continuing to evolve. Pry will celebrate the release of "Wrapped In Plastic" with a special album launch show at NYC’s Night Club 101 on May 31, joined by Crate and Cal Fish. The record promises to be a turning point for the band. Critical acclaim from Pitchfork, Notion, and Noisescape Magazine signals their rising influence, while earlier singles Tether You, Heaven, and Greener cement the band’s immersive, nostalgic, yet boundary-pushing aesthetic.
