A spark in the dark can reveal a whole new direction. Seattle indie outfit Babes In Canyon tap into that moment of unexpected creation with their new single Echo. The track pulses with an adventurous blend of synth-folk textures, rhythmic drive, and harmony-rich vocals. The project is led by singer-songwriter Nathan Hamer, expands the possibilities of folk and Americana songwriting into new sonic territory. Arriving as their first release since the 2025 album The New Loud, layers of melody and storytelling unfold with a confident sense of momentum. What begins with a grounded folk framework slowly widens, like a campfire story suddenly carried into the glow of night. The group’s harmony-driven songwriting remains central, allowing the emotional core of the music to shine through the production.

The origin of the song carries its own bit of serendipity. Written during a spontaneous session while the power was out, the band leaned into the unexpected mood of the moment. The darkness became a canvas for experimentation where their collision of influences gives the track its distinct character. The band will soon bring that energy to audiences across the country as a U.S. tour begins April 16 in Portland before continuing through additional dates nationwide.
