What’s been your favorite moment of your career thus far?

My favorite moment of my career has probably been when I went to an award show I was nominated for, with my family. That was major for me. I’ll never forget that moment.

How do you or your band typically travel around?

We usually travel by car or plane.

What’s the backstory behind your latest release?

My latest project ESCAPE TO LA was constructed thru a series of DM’s between myself and my guy Q. Q operates a blog and we grew a relationship after awhile. He suggested the entire project and I just really cooked it up and ran the play.

How long did it take before you made your first dollar off music?

It actually didn’t take long at all. The money back then was kinda more instant with hand to hand for cd’s. It took me a few days tho really.

When did you feel noticed by the music industry?

I felt noticed in like ‘07, ‘08, ‘09 ish.

What’s the craziest thing you’ve done on stage?

The craziest thing I’ve done on stage is probably thrown water on the crowd in a club. People were NOT feeling that chit. I got caught up in the moment to be honest.

What foods or drinks are you bringing to the cookout?

I’m still bringing whatever anybody needs. We getting lit today!

How do you balance music and your personal time?

It’s an interesting balance to manage honestly. I balance it as much as I can as realistically as I can. It’s no secret codes or special rules on how to do it.

Who’s on your dream collab list?

Too many to list.

What are you working on now and where can people connect with you at?

Just dropped my FOURTH project of the year entitled "Escape To LA" that’s out now on Bandcamp and YouTube. My fifth project of the year is coming in August too! Follow me on social media @themadisonjay
