How do you see the music industry changing this year?
I think people are starting to see the importance of artist development again. At least I hope they are. I also think we’re seeing a big shift back to live, which I’m super happy about.
What's the most unexpected place you've found musical inspiration?
In the fall of 2024, I was watching some birds fly headfirst into the wind. I found myself wondering why they do it. Why work so hard and push themselves into this unstoppable force when it would be so much easier to just fly in the direction the wind is taking them? Then I started thinking about how my own life is kind of like that, and I wound up writing a song called ‘The Wind’ that’s coming out on my new EP.
What's your favorite anthem of all time?
Save Rock and Roll (Fall Out Boy & Elton John)
What's your favorite song to perform live?
I love doing Love Should Drop Dead on the loop station. It’s so fun because there’s no way to know exactly how it’s going to go. I get one try to do it right, and the excitement of doing it live in front of an audience is one of my favorite feelings.

How do you come up with new song titles?
A lot of self-reflection. A lot of spending time in my own head, talking to myself, and figuring out how I’m feeling and what’s resonating right now. When I’m writing, I also try to be very particular about what kinds of media I’m consuming. Sometimes movies, books, and TV shows can spark ideas for a song title.
How do you choose which songs make it onto an album?
I kind of just know at a certain point. My process is to write as many songs as I can, and then the right ones jump out at me. I try to steer the direction and theme, but usually my subconscious has that covered, and by the time I’ve written 10 or 12 songs, the project is forming on its own.
