Behind The Lens: Moodie B. Trublz

What’s one thing the next generation needs to know?

Times change and so do people's opinions.

What would you want AI (Artificial Intelligence) to do for you?

I've used AI for art a lot, but I really want to use AI to make music videos with a concept around the topic of the song. I also feel like it would be good with zoning in on your core audience so you know where your main fan base is.

How would you describe the sound for this decade?

Repetitive and saturated. Every city has an artist that becomes a staple, and then everyone else in the city hops onto the trend with little to no originality. But in the bigger leagues of the industry, I feel like this decade is becoming a return to real lyricism. Hopefully it drowns out all of the bs music.

Which producer, artist, or visual designer is catching your attention and you would like to work with?

A lot of dope producers in the city that I have connected with and are planning to work with. Too many artists to name without it being a list. I feel like everyone has a sound that would bring a different energy to my music. My ideas and topics vary, so any artist I work with has to be versatile. I am currently working on getting a music video with every videographer in the city that I haven't worked with. I want to work without anyone that's hungry and trying to push a collaboration like it's their own. A lot of producers, artists, and videographers don't put in as much effort to promote the music they collaborate on, and that's one of the reasons lots of collabs go nowhere.

Pick one and why: Restaurant, Diner, or Homemade.

Homemade is always better, but diners are the hidden gems.

What spot do you love to eat at in your city?

Tatsuya Ramen is my go to place for Ramen.

What does Pride mean to you?

Pride is whatever you make it. Being proud of the things you've accomplished, the person you are or you've become, are all things worthy of pride. Too much pride will kill you though.

What does Juneteenth mean to you?

A reminder that everyone on this planet isn't free. My family tree stems from Galveston where the last of the slaves got word that slavery was over. It's a reminder that information is important, and a lot of us are unaware of the resources available to us if we don't leave where we come from. We didn't need a national holiday for it to be respected and celebrated, cause the people it affected the most know about it.

Describe the people from your inner circle.

Hustlers. I know a lot of rappers, but the ones I rock with have multiple streams of income. You can't build with one track mind people. Everyone I keep around me motivates me to get it by any means. I say this as a rapper/auto mechanic/artist. I also make sure my family is straight before anything, and that's what real ones do.

Are you ready for summer? Any upcoming heat for fans, and where can people connect with you?

Summer is over, it's about to be Fall. But seasons don't change anything but the weather. We are still out here putting on for ourselves and the city. I got some upcoming features and videos about to drop. My most recent video is dropping on the 31st of August, called Made You Look; shot by Chino Chase. Make sure to tap in and listen to the album it came off of: The F.A.S.T. I go by @moodiebtrublz on all media platforms.
