Are there specific venues or festivals you dream of performing at in the future?
Since I was a teenager, I've always of performing at iconic festivals like Rolling Loud and Coachella. The energy of the crowds, the vibrant atmosphere, and the chance to connect with fans on such a grand scale inspire me daily. I envision stepping onto those stages, feeling the adrenaline rush as the lights flash and the music blares. Each performance would be a culmination of years of hard work, passion, and dedication to my craft. Basically, these festivals represent a personal milestone and a platform to share my art with the world.
How has your musical style evolved since you started, and where do you see it going in the future?
When I first started making music, I focused on storytelling, drawing inspiration from artists like J. Cole. Over time, my sound evolved to embrace melodic elements, reflecting themes of travel and freedom from poverty. Today, my songs capture the excitement of exploring new places and the joy of breaking free from life's constraints. Looking ahead, I envision continuing with this melodic style while staying true to my core sound. It’s about blending my journey with the universal quest for liberation and connection through music.
How do you engage with your fan base, and what kind of relationship do you aim to build with them?
I actively engage with my fans by frequently posting content on Instagram and YouTube, sharing glimpses of my life and music journey. Traveling to different cities allows me to connect with people in person, fostering deeper relationships and expanding my network. My goal is to cultivate a loyal fanbase that supports me through thick and thin. I believe that genuine connections create a sense of community, making my music even more meaningful. In the end, I want my fans to feel like they're a part of my journey, cheering me on every step of the way.
Can you share a bit about your experience with music education and its impact on your career?
Currently, I'm enrolled in college to earn a bachelor's degree in audio production, and I’ve also attended a program focused on the music business. This music education has been invaluable, equipping me with essential skills like effective marketing and content release strategies. I've learned how to record myself, which has boosted my confidence and independence as an artist. Additionally, I’m gaining insights into branding, helping me shape my identity in the industry. Overall, these experiences are not only enhancing my craft but also empowering me to navigate the music world as a savvy businessperson.
What are your thoughts on the role of nostalgia and retro influences in contemporary music?
Nostalgia and retro influences play a significant role in contemporary music, creating a bridge between generations and evoking familiar emotions. Many artists draw inspiration from past styles infusing their work with elements that resonate with listeners’ memories and experiences. This trend not only pays homage to musical history but also allows for innovative reinterpretations blending classic sounds with modern production techniques. As a result, songs can feel both timeless and fresh appealing to a wide audience. Nostalgia serves as a powerful tool that enriches contemporary music fostering connections and inviting listeners on a journey through sound.
Are there any specific causes or messages that you are passionate about and incorporate into your music?
I am deeply passionate about conveying messages in my music that emphasize how where you come from doesn’t dictate your future. I believe that resilience and determination can pave the way for success, regardless of one’s background. Additionally, I strive to remind listeners to keep God first in their lives, fostering a sense of hope and purpose. My songs aim to inspire positivity, encouraging everyone to embrace challenges with a hopeful mindset. Ultimately, I want my music to serve as a beacon of encouragement, showing that with faith and perseverance, anything is possible.
What's your take on the importance of live performances versus studio recordings in building a music career?
To me, live performances are crucial because they significantly influence how many people will want to attend future shows. Unlike studio recordings, which can be polished and edited, live performances demand a level of energy and connection that captivates the audience. The raw emotion and spontaneity of performing in front of a crowd create an unforgettable experience for both the artist and the fans. This interaction fosters a sense of community and loyalty, encouraging attendees to spread the word about the performance. I believe that the impact of a live show can resonate long after the final note is played, shaping an artist’s reputation and growth.
How do you adapt to changes and trends in the music industry while staying true to your artistic vision?
Adapting to changes and trends in the music industry while staying true to my artistic vision requires a delicate balance of flexibility and authenticity. I keep a close eye on emerging styles and technologies allowing me to incorporate relevant elements without compromising my core message. Engaging with my audience also helps me understand their evolving tastes, ensuring that I remain connected to them. However, I prioritize staying true to the themes and sounds that define my artistry, using them as a foundation for innovation. I believe that embracing change can enhance my music while remaining anchored in the values that inspire me.
Lastly, what legacy or impact do you hope to leave through your music?
When I'm done making music I want to leave behind a legacy of determination and resilience, showing others that success is possible despite the obstacles encountered along the way. I hope my journey inspires listeners to chase their dreams with unwavering commitment no matter the challenges they face. Through my songs, I aim to convey messages of hope and perseverance encouraging people to believe in themselves. I want my story to serve as a reminder that setbacks can be stepping stones to greater achievements. Lastly, I aspire to be remembered as someone who fought for their dreams and uplifted others in the process.
