Grief doesn’t end... It echoes, bends, and sometimes sings. On Cover The Mirrors, Ben Kweller emerges from a period of unimaginable loss with a deeply personal 12-track offering which transforms sorrow into song. Written after the tragic passing of his 16-year-old son Dorian Zev in 2023, the album leans into memory, healing, and creative rebirth. The featured single Oh Dorian, with MJ Lenderman, glows with a nostalgic, Sixties-tinged ease, reflecting on connection rather than absence. This is Kweller at his most vulnerable, crafting a record that’s equally elegiac and uplifting. Kweller shares:

This is the most personal, emotionally raw project I’ve ever worked on. I didn’t care what came out of me, it was the only way I could find peace in my earth-shattering grief.

Recorded in October 2024 at NoiseCo Studio in Dripping Springs, TX, "Cover The Mirrors" features tourmates Chris Mintz-Plasse on bass and Ryan Dean on drums. Tracks like Depression featuring Coconut Records, Dollar Store featuring Waxahatchee, and Killer Bee featuring The Flaming Lips build a dynamic emotional arc, each one offering a flicker of light in the dark. As he honors Dorian on what would have been his 19th birthday, don't linger in mourning or heartbreak. Instead stream the album now and watch the official premiere for "Oh Dorian" as a testament to joyful restorative power.
