Some instincts pull harder the closer you get. Katie Tupper steps into full focus with her debut album, Greyhound. Rooted in pursuit, tension, and emotional momentum, the record explores the ache of wanting what stays just out of reach. Tupper’s smoky alto threads soul, indie, and alternative R&B with a quiet folk sensibility. Produced with longtime collaborators Justice Der and Felix Fox, "Greyhound" leans into textured drums, delicate guitars, and spacious arrangements. Alongside the album’s release, Tupper shares a live video for standout track Disappear. Originally written about losing herself inside a relationship which moved too fast, a stripped-back performance reveals the weight beneath her composure. Tupper explains:
This batch of songwriting discusses difficult things but from a lens of maturity. I want listeners to feel like they're not alone when challenging things come up. I want there to be a sense of calm and an opportunity to slow down while listening. When people read my lyrics and take away a message I want it to be one that is nuanced and that is empathetic. I think often pop music can be very polarized and harmful. I want my music to encourage people to take care of themselves and those around them by understanding that as people, we are always the greyhound and the decoy.

The album version features contributions from Jordan Rakei and Rachel Bobbitt, while the live take, voice and piano alone, underscores Tupper’s quiet authority and control. Tupper continues to showcase her grounding prairie-bred introspection in a widened, city-shaped worldview. The album’s central metaphor, greyhounds chasing an unattainable decoy, becomes a lens for self-examination. With headline tour dates now announced across North America and Europe, Katie Tupper’s arrival feels measured, intentional, and deeply felt.
