What if the version of you online isn’t the one meant to survive? Cherry Bomb crashes into focus with Digital Girl, a vibrant yet uneasy pop release which blurs the line between celebration and overload. Led by Mandy Lee of MisterWives, the solo project leans into a glossy, Y2K-tinged soundscape while peeling back the pressure behind it of curated perfection, endless scrolling, and the quiet erosion of identity. Her vocals glide across bubbly synths and club-ready rhythms. However, there’s tension underneath, a push-and-pull between indulgence and resistance. The track doesn’t reject the digital world outright—it confronts it, reshaping it into something expressive rather than consuming. Cherry Bomb had to say:

Who doesn’t want to smash their phone in 2026 and be met with confetti to celebrate? In this hyper-digital day and age, it’s near impossible to not fall down the algorithmic rabbit hole of comparison spirals, curated perfection, and infinite doomscrolling. I wanted to visually represent the tension that exists between conforming to the pressure or rebelling against it and what it feels like when the two coincide.

There’s intention in every layer, where sweetness and distortion coexist, giving the record both accessibility and edge. It’s pop with purpose—unfiltered, self-aware, and unafraid to disrupt. That conflict takes center stage in the official video, where flashing visuals, warped environments, and overstimulated imagery mirror the emotional weight of the song. irected by Matty Vogel, the visual feels like stepping inside a scrolling feed that’s been pushed to its limit. Cherry Bomb becomes more than a persona, it’s a symbol of resistance, a refusal to bend to the impossible shapes modern culture demands. Building momentum of Cherry Bomb’s debut release Never Be Me (M★ther★cker), her solo era, builds a universe where individuality takes center stage.
