Christone "Kingfish" Ingram Takes The "Hard Road" Further

The chase is dangerous precisely because the warning sounds good. Christone "Kingfish" Ingram introduces Hard Road Extended with The Chase, a new song that rides romantic trouble on a deep contemporary-blues groove. The expanded album arrives October 16 through his own Red Zero Records, adding four previously unheard tracks to his third studio set. Guitar phrases answer the vocal with heat and humor, keeping the "Kingfish" swagger rooted in conversation. Every lick lands and the fire feels even hotter. Ingram frames the larger record as a chapter of clear-eyed ownership:

Executive produced by Ingram and Ric Whitney, the album features production from Patrick "Guitar Boy" Hayes, Nick Goldston, and longtime collaborator Tom Hambridge. "Hard Road Extended" connects Delta blues language with rock, funk, soul, R&B, pop, and jazz without treating any one style as a costume. The added tracks include Train, (Still) Nothin’ But Your Love, and Two. Four. Eight featuring Yussef Dayes.
