#ComingUp: O-Town Keep The Pop Dream Alive With "Certified Delulu"

The CDs may have collected dust, but some childhood favorites never really leave the rotation. O-Town helped soundtrack the early 2000s with the playful imagination of Liquid Dreams and the unforgettable harmonies of All Or Nothing, and now they're bringing that familiar personality into a completely different era with Certified Delulu. Twenty-five years after their introduction on Making The Band, Jacob Underwood, Trevor Penick, Erik-Michael Estrada, and Dan Miller turn a popular internet expression into a cheeky celebration of confidence, individuality, and laughing at yourself. Written by Underwood and Mark Suhonen, the single leans into the group's established pop instincts while embracing the exaggerated self-belief of social media culture. The hook, "I'm Certified Delulu baby, untouchable," captures their playful attitude of being the main attraction in your own imagination. Ethan Rounds contributes guitar, keyboards, and bass, while Suhonen's programming helps connect the instrumentation. What makes the concept especially entertaining is its timing; four musicians who once navigated the height of televised boy-band fame are now old enough to laugh about still chasing the same musical excitement. The group explained:
'Certified Delulu' is really the product of everything we’ve experienced together over the last 25 years. There’s something pretty funny about four middle-aged guys still doing this with the same energy we had in our twenties. We wanted to have some fun with that and make a song that doesn’t take itself or us too seriously.

Their longevity makes the joke even more meaningful. O-Town became the first act signed to Clive Davis' J Records, watching their self-titled debut enter the Billboard 200 at No. 5. After their initial split in 2003, the group reunited a decade later and gradually built an independent career through Lines & Circles and The O.T.W.N. album, proving their creative partnership could survive beyond the television cameras. That connection continues through annual performances, appearances on the Pop 2000 Tour, and their YouTube series Being The Band, which gives longtime fans another opportunity to follow the personalities they first met on television. There's something satisfying about revisiting a group whose music once lived inside a CD player and discovering that the members are still finding reasons to enjoy the stage together. Stream "Certified Delulu" and enjoy the laughs with O-Town on YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, and Spotify.
