A voice trapped on tape. A question left unanswered for nearly fifty years. Time bends as David Forman resurfaces with Who You Been Talking To, a long-lost 1977 album finally seeing daylight. Recorded in Los Angeles at the height of his creative power, the project captures Forman’s blue-eyed soul and streetwise poetry in full bloom. Produced by the late Jack Nitzsche, the album features a rare constellation of L.A. session royalty including Ry Cooder, Jim Keltner, and David Lindley. Forman’s voice moves effortlessly between doo-wop tenderness and urbane grit, weaving Brill Building craft with cinematic depth.

Shelved before it could breathe, the album now arrives intact, restoring the work as it was always meant to be heard. Originally recorded for Arista Records and left unreleased after label hesitation, "Who You Been Talking To" survived as rumor, reel-to-reel, and whispered legend. That changed when a small circle of listeners—led by journalist Joe Hagan—tracked Forman down and reignited the campaign to release it properly. Now issued by High Moon Records, the album arrives with deluxe packaging, extensive liner notes, and rare photographs by Peter Hujar. "Who You Been Talking To" lands January 23, 2026, so stream the lyric video now.
