Acclaimed California rock band Dawes is marking a significant new chapter in their musical journey with the release of their ninth studio album, Oh Brother. The first single, House Parties, has premiered today, along with a fan-sourced official music video that captures the lively spirit of the song. Co-produced by Taylor and Griffin Goldsmith and longtime collaborator Mike Viola, "Oh Brother" will be available everywhere on October 11, with pre-orders and exclusive vinyl options already up for grabs. This album showcases Dawes’ evolution while staying true to their heartfelt sound and rich storytelling. Taylor Goldsmith said:

A nostalgic song. A song about how true cultural experiences aren’t in the tourist traps but within human connections among specific communities. It’s a goofy lyric but the sentiment is not. We can all relate to feeling truly alive at a dive bar or a stranger’s home, getting access into a universe we didn’t even know existed… Whether across the planet or just one town over.

The album’s production is a testament to Dawes’ enduring creative partnership. Taylor and Griffin Goldsmith took the helm, with initial recordings featuring Taylor on guitar and vocals and Griffin on drums, later adding studio instrumentation and contributions from touring guitarist Trevor Menear. "Oh Brother" reflects a blend of folk-rock, piano ballads, and sprawling jams, highlighting the band’s versatility and commitment to their craft. The Goldsmith brothers, who have been musical partners for 15 years, express a renewed sense of gratitude and creativity in this latest endeavor. Dawes will embark on the Oh Brother Tour, beginning November 7 in Knoxville, TN, and will continue with additional legs in December and April 2025.
