The chords don’t rise they reverse. On Unwind, guitars smear backward into themselves, distortion folding like time collapsing in slow motion. Glixen take shoegaze’s familiar density and stretch it into something gravitational, where even the pulse seems to loosen its grip and drift. What makes "Unwind" striking is its push-and-pull sonic architecture erosion. As Glixen expand their sonic universe, bandleader Aislinn Ritchie explain:

'Unwind' is about that feeling of relief when someone comes back to you after they’ve left. It’s human nature to crave that push and pull—a drug weaned off. Blindingly hard to say no, we succumb to willful ignorance. We recorded this song in Los Angeles with Sonny Diperri producing, and it’s the first song we incorporated different instrumental elements, and it's a glimpse into our evolution.

Produced by Sonny Diperri, the track resists traditional hooks, instead letting swelling textures bloom and dissolve as if the song itself is exhaling. The single signals a pivotal year for the Phoenix quartet. With a Japanese headline tour launching March 12 in Nagoya, a co-headlining North American run with Trauma Ray, Her New Knife, Knifeplay, and a summer appearance at Outbreak Festival in Manchester, Glixen are stepping onto larger stages. Following the momentum of Quiet Pleasures and the heavier descent of Medicine Bow, "Unwind" feels like evolution.
