Did you change your mind, or did it change you? Genre-fluid jam band Goose delivers a long-awaited fan favorite in studio form with the release of Thatch. A mainstay in the band’s evolving live set since 2022, “Thatch” captures Goose’s signature balance with playful yet introspective, rhythm-driven yet lyrically searching. Led by frontman Rick Mitarotonda, the song showcases Goose’s deepening ability to pair intricate arrangements with existential inquiry. The band’s ability to blend those reflections with grooves that stir dance floors is part of what makes Goose such a magnetic force. Mitarotonda adds:

'Thatch’ started as a voice memo — a scrap of melody that sat around for a while. Then it came together quickly during a transitional period. We’re often surrounded by voices that want us to fit in. This one’s about staying true to the strange ideas that live inside us.

The track arrives ahead of their fourth studio album, Everything Must Go, out April 25 via No Coincidence Records. As with many songs on "Everything Must Go," the track dives into larger themes of identity, transformation, and resisting conformity. Fans can catch Goose live this summer when the Everything Must Go Tour kicks off May 27–28 with a two-night stand at The Masonic in San Francisco. Stream “Thatch” now and pre-order the full album here because every era of Goose deserves to be heard in high fidelity. Connect with Goose on FaceBook, X, Instagram, and YouTube
