Philadelphia’s rising force Her New Knife push their acclaimed 2024 EP into new territory with chrome is lullaby: re. This deluxe remix collection features bold reimaginings by TAGABOW, Angel Emoji, Grimace, Red Rakes, Certain, and SILICONE VALLEY. Arriving October 31, the expanded release marks the first time chrome is lullaby will be available on vinyl and cassette, with remixes pressed to the B-side. Leading the rollout is kittyriff – They Are Gutting a Body of Water: re, a blistering rework that transforms the bone-shattering riffage of the original into a trip hop-tinged abyss of drums, metallic textures, and sampled vocals. Directed by Julia’s War labelhead Doug Dulgarian , the official video premieres alongside the track, with drummer Elijah Ford saying:

Doug has always been a huge part of our lives up here in Philly. He totally transformed the song into a beautiful trip hop banger — and for that, I love him forever.

The announcement follows Her New Knife’s striking cover of Björk’s Pagan Poetry. Her New Knife’s 2025 has been relentless, from eleven sets at SXSW to opening slots with julie, Frost Children, TAGABOW, and Midrift. With "chrome is lullaby: re," the band doubles down on their reputation for embracing the strange and experimental. This fall, they join Water From Your Eyes on a full North American run before returning to the studio to finish their debut album, expected in 2026.
