"Hourglass" Shows Why King Falcon's Rise Is Just Beginning

The next generation of New York rock bands doesn't need to imitate the past to earn its place. King Falcon continues proving that with the release of Hourglass. The trio deliver soaring hooks with emotional introspection of looking backward without becoming trapped in nostalgia. The guitars cut with purpose, the rhythm section drives relentlessly forward, and Michael Rubin's commanding vocal performance gives the track its emotional center. It's another reminder that King Falcon's greatest strength lies in making personal reflection feel anthemic. With the announcement of Bloom, the band sounds increasingly confident in expanding its creative identity. Rubin believes this collection represents something much larger than a standalone release. He explains:
These songs have new sonic elements beyond what we've done in the past and we're really excited about that. This EP is the bridge between our first record and more music we're currently working on for 2027.

That forward-looking mindset mirrors the band's rapid ascent over the last several years. Formed in Brooklyn in 2020, King Falcon have evolved from a local favorite into one of New York City's fastest-rising alternative rock acts, logging more than 150 live performances in just two years while surpassing 1.5 million streams. Following standout singles including Plastic Crown, Holding Out, Wait, and Nothing Feels Amazing, the trio has continued to sharpen both its songwriting and stage presence through relentless touring alongside artists like Des Rocs, Cinema Stereo, The Struts, and Sublime with Rome. Upcoming hometown performances in Coney Island and New York City keep that momentum rolling as "Bloom" approaches its September 18 release. King Falcon aren't simply building a loyal following anymore, they're steadily blossoming into a household name with the ambition, consistency, and songs to support it.
