Standing quietly in front of a mirror, after years of performing through smoke, makeup, distortion, and noise, Jazmin Bean exposes themselves with Darling. Finally deciding to speak without hiding behind the character, the track delivers a softer and more grounded piece of alt-pop, reconnecting with the person underneath the mythology. "Darling" hits differently because Jazmin is actively renegotiating their relationship with identity, after years spent surviving through personas, aesthetics, and emotional extremes. Real instrumentation reinforces that shift, as Jules Apollinaire keeps the arrangement spacious and tactile. Jazmin explained:

The inspiration, a vision for this new music was to do something I maybe haven’t done before but kind of bring Jazmin bean as the person and character in a way to the spotlight, interacting with the real world, real instruments, no autotune, a lot more thought out discussions going through my head. I feel like we are saying hi Jazmin bean again for the first time since I was a teen.

Recorded in East London the single moves with a rawness that immediately separates it from much of Jazmin’s earlier work. There is still tension running underneath the softness, but now it feels internal rather than explosive. After building a fiercely devoted global audience, Jazmin Bean sound is focused on as emotional honesty stripped down to its uncomfortable core. That pivot alone makes "Darling" one of the more compelling moments in their catalogue. Connect with Jazmin Bean on INSTAGRAM, FACEBOOK, TWITTER, and YOUTUBE.
