Every memory is a piece of fabric, stitched, stretched, and held together by the love that shaped it. With his new EP Cross Stitch, indie-folk storyteller John-Robert steps into a raw, reflective chapter which honors his Appalachian roots while embracing the vulnerability of young adulthood. The EP’s standout moment, Use Me, arrives with a wildly chaotic music video set inside a local amateur wrestling ring. John-Robert confronts messy situationships, spiraling expectations, and the complicated pull between desire and self-worth. John-Robert shared:
‘Use Me’ is about getting your hopes and expectations up for situationships, and then shaming yourself when they fall apart. Also, I listened to the Charli XCX 'Brat’ album and was blown away by the writing. It got me thinking that bluntness and honestly confronting my insecurities could be… sexy.

As his first independent release since 2023’s Garden Snake, the project blends generational stories with modern confessionals, creating a collection as textured and intimate as the quilt that inspired its name. Earlier this year, the rising singer-songwriter returned from Los Angeles to the small Virginia town where he first found his voice. The decision marked a recommitment to clarity, community, and the simplicity of home. That spirit runs through "Cross Stitch," radiating warmth, grit, and deeply human honesty. Stream the EP, watch the “Use Me” video, and follow the journey of John-Robert on Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Spotify, Apple Music, Twitter, and Bandcamp.
