Some breakups sting while others just confirm what you already knew. On Death & Taxes, Nashville trio Just Jayne skip the tears and go straight for the smirk. The new single pairs three-part harmonies with razor-sharp lyricism, flipping post-breakup blues into a confident prediction. As inevitable as sunrise, as unavoidable as the IRS... he’ll be back. Comprised of Taylor Edwards, Jillian Steele, and Rachel Wiggins, the all-female outfit have built a reputation for vocal precision and whip-smart storytelling. Here the opening verse reads like surveillance footage with the ex at the bar, taking shots, pretending he’s unbothered. While the chorus lands the punchline, just as certain as death and taxes, he’s going to miss her.

If Climate Change showcased their playful side and This Morning reframed a hit from a woman’s perspective, "Death & Taxes" cements their lane. Produced by Matt Geroux, the track sparkles with bright banjo runs, slick mandolin textures, and pedal-steel warmth. It’s sass without bitterness, clarity without cruelty. The release arrives as Just Jayne’s first music of 2026 and follows a breakout year that landed them on Taste of Country’s RISERS: 2026 Artists to Watch list. Their momentum continues onstage, supporting Maddox Batson before heading overseas for their international debut at London’s C2C Festival next month. From there, they’ll join Nate Smith on the road this spring. Watch the official video to "Death & Taxes" and connect with Just Jayne on TikTok, Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube.
