The song started life as 'One Explanation'... Based on a vocal sample from Sudanese music, it was developed with influence from fellow Touch artist Claire M Singer... Then, I presented the piece to Olive Kimoto, who wrote lyrics and vocal melody with distinctly religious and spiritual themes... More development and dynamics came through live performance...

The release also continues an exciting new era for Locust, whose resurgence has introduced Mark Van Hoen's influential electronic work to an entirely new generation. Following collaborations with Griff Spex, Neil Halstead, and Natasha Morrow, Spectral+ arrives on September 11 carrying the same spirit of thoughtful collaboration while expanding the project's already expansive sonic world. Fans will have the opportunity to experience the album live with performances, including Locust's first UK performance since 1998 at London's MOTH Club on September 25.
