Sometimes healing sounds like rolling the windows down. Today marks the arrival of Luke Tyler Shelton’s radiant debut EP Blue Sky. Produced by Shooter Jennings and Jonathan Wilson, the five-track collection feels like a drive through golden-hour Americana of the ethereal Laurel Canyon nostalgia. It’s a project that offers both comfort and catharsis, melding country-rock warmth and folk-pop soul. Recorded to tape in Topanga Canyon with a tight-knit group of collaborators including Ted Russell Kamp and Trina Shoemaker, "Blue Sky" carries a rare magic. In reference to the title track, Shelton added:
It’s one of the few songs I wrote completely for myself. It provided relief during a breakup, and I think others can feel that same peace.

Layered with analog intimacy, retro textures, and lush instrumentation by Wilson and Jennings’ circle, the project proves Shelton voice was born to sooth and stir. The result is a project that feels timeless, anchored by heartfelt songwriting and road-ready melodies. Shelton is currently supporting Ole 60 on select tour dates and will appear at both the FairWell Festival and Evanston Folk Festival this summer. Stream "Blue Sky," and catch Luke Tyler Shelton live in a city near you by connecting on Instagram, YouTube, Spotify, Apple Music, and TikTok.
