Some stories are born from the mountains. Others are carved in the echoes of festival nights. Denver’s rising bluegrass force Magoo steps confidently into the spotlight with the announcement of their debut album What A Life, arriving February 27. Made up of Dylan Flynn (dobro), Erik Hill (guitar), Courtlyn Bills (mandolin), and Denton Turner (bass), Magoo’s musicianship is undeniable. The quartet pairs tradition with trailblazing instincts, crafting a project that honors the legacy of the genre while carving out new terrain with fearless precision and heart. To mark the news, the band unveils an extensive Western and Southern U.S. tour kicking off November 21 in their hometown, including select dates supporting Shadowgrass and Kitchen Dwellers. Magoo will share Angel Of Telluride, the luminous new single featuring progressive bluegrass legend Sam Bush. Mandolinist Courtlyn Bills calls the track:

Inspired by real events, 'Angel of Telluride' is a story about meeting someone and falling in love at the Telluride Bluegrass Festival.

It’s another vivid window into a band whose chemistry crackles through every run and harmony, blending lived experience with the magic that makes festival encounters unforgettable. "What A Life" finds Magoo stepping fully into their identity. With dazzling instrumentals and earnest lyricism, the ten-track collection thrives on momentum while leaving room for reflection. GRAMMY-winning mastering engineer David Glasser adds a polished warmth to the project, sharpening the band’s adventurous edge without dimming their raw charm. With competition wins, festival appearances at WinterWonderGrass, The Big What?, and Smalltown For The Cause, and a rapidly growing reputation, the quartet has become one of the most exciting names in modern bluegrass.
