A road opens while an old friend disappears into another city. On Marathonia, Lauren Morgan steps further into their solo chapter with a track that feels delicate, focused, and quietly magnetic. Previously known as one half of SALES, Lorg turns the ache of distance into forward motion with sleek electronic touches. The move from Asheville to Brooklyn also gives the track added context, turning running into both a literal image and a metaphor for leaving one version of life behind. There is a beautiful restraint in how "Marathonia" handles change, like a note tucked inside a jacket pocket before a long trip. Lorg described:

My closest friend was moving away to NYC around the time my relationship was feeling out of reach/doomed. I felt like the two people I really wanted around were not there anymore. Brings a little tear to my eye even now. I wrote this song for Daniel — athletic, self-assured, a beam of light. For the lyrics, I imagined going on a run with him. I’ve never been a great runner and I hope when I die whoever is on the other side gives me a good reason for that. Ever since we met, Daniel and I were fast friends and this song came out of me 100 percent complete. Songs like these give me energy for 10 more.

"Marathonia" keeps the stark beauty of a guitar plugged directly into a computer while adding studio elements to never erase the intimacy of its home-recorded origin. The production details matter here with the balance between bedroom simplicity and Lorg distinct understanding of their earlier work. The project’s mythical framing — complete with doubt, despair, curses, and counterspells — might sound playful on the surface, but it points toward something very real: an artist moving past hesitation to reclaim their own direction. Lorg sounds newly unburdened, not because everything has settled, but because movement itself has become the answer. Run with "Marathonia" and follow Lorg on Instagram, YouTube, Spotify, Apple Music, and Bandcamp.
