My Morning Jacket is set to reintroduce fans to their iconic 2006 concert film Okonokos, now revamped in stunning 4K resolution and mixed in 5.1 audio. The film captures the band's electrifying performance during a two-night stand at San Francisco’s legendary Fillmore Auditorium in November 2005. This re-release is part of a limited theatrical run facilitated by Abramorama in partnership with ATO Records. The screenings come just in time for the band's much-anticipated return to the Fillmore for a four-night headline run with no repeated songs. My Morning Jacket’s Jim James says:
It’s wild how much technology has changed since we shot Okonokos and released it on DVD so many moons ago. We are excited to bring it to you in all its new hi-res hi-def picture and sound, in a limited theatrical run. We hope you have as much fun as we did jumping back into its world again!
Evan Saxon, President of Abramorama, added:
I’m ecstatic to again be working with My Morning Jacket and bringing Okonokos to fans around the world. The film captures the band giving an amazing performance fans are still talking about.
The re-release of Okonokos is a collaborative effort involving Abramorama, This partnership ensures that the film receives the attention it deserves with a series of limited theatrical screenings across the country, starting at San Francisco’s Alamo Drafthouse Cinema from May 26-31. Following this, My Morning Jacket will headline multiple festivals and embark on a co-headlining tour with Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats. Don’t miss the opportunity to experience Okonokos in its enhanced glory by following them on FACEBOOK, INSTAGRAM, TWITTER, and YOUTUBE.
