Natalie Jane has made it clear she’s on a mission with her latest single, The Top. The powerful anthem is from her upcoming Sick To My Stomach EP, dropping on September 27. This explosive track, backed by rumbling bass and driving synths, has found its place in the highly anticipated Netflix dystopian film Uglies, which premiered today. Natalie’s unmistakable vocal strength and the song’s empowering message make it a perfect match for the movie’s themes of self-discovery and defiance. Natalie Jane says:
I wrote this about someone who told me to give up on my dreams. They said I needed a fallback for when this didn’t work out. So I wrote the line, ‘Just watch, I’ll be waving at you from the top.
Music supervisor Rob Lowry also chimed in, saying:
From the moment we heard Natalie’s ‘The Top,’ we knew it had to be a part of Uglies. The song embodies the film’s narrative of inner battles and growth, making it more than just a soundtrack – it’s a core thematic element of Tally’s journey on screen.
Produced by PomPom, who has worked with heavyweights like John Legend and Noah Kahan, “The Top” is just one of many exciting pieces leading up to Natalie’s upcoming EP. Fans can also look forward to her performances across Europe and North America, fresh off her sold-out Where Am I? Again Tour. With "Sick To My Stomach" set to arrive soon, Natalie shows no signs of slowing down.
