If chaos had a melody, this is how it would hum... Slow, then soaring, then swallowing you whole. Philadelphia’s cult-favorite collective Nyxy Nyx unleash their brand new track Ashtray. Its a sprawling six-minute storm which sways between shimmering stillness and walls of fuzzed-out distortion. The track’s restless movement, silence giving way to guitar riffs while then fading into calm, captures the essence of Nyxy Nyx’s mythic live energy. Delivering a sound sludgy as it is transcendent, frontman Brian Reichert describes it as:
...a song caught between chaos and clarity, where noise becomes a form of reflection.

The new single, equal parts noise hurricane and contemplative meditation, serves as the latest preview of their debut studio album Cult Classics Vol. 1, arriving September 12, 2025. With contributions from Madeline Johnston and Josh Meakim, the single embodies Nyxy Nyx’s ability to build universes where distortion and intimacy co-exist. Their upcoming release marks the project’s heaviest incarnation yet, produced by Dan Angel and built for both longtime initiates and new believers. Pre-save "Cult Classics Vol. 1" ahead of its September 12 release. Be sure to connect with Nyxy Nyx on SPOTIFY, BANDCAMP, YOUTUBE, and INSTAGRAM.
