Philly cult icons Nyxy Nyx reemerge from the haze with their first-ever studio album Cult Classics Vol. 1, arriving September 12. The announcement lands alongside lead single In Haze which is a staggering slowcore lament shimmering with dread and grace. Built on droning guitars, hushed vocals, and a trudging rhythm of a dream-like states, “In Haze” captures Nyxy Nyx’s signature swirl of beauty and decay in one aching breath. The band shared on the creation of the album:

Every song on this album was performed live, but none played the same twice.

Known for their ever-mutating discography and temporally unmoored identity, Nyxy Nyx started in 2014 as a performance art experiment and evolved into a the East Coast underground. Their past work, part cryptic archive, part folklore, was scattered across cassettes, loose masters, and whispered re-recordings. "Cult Classics Vol. 1" is their first studio project to exist in concrete form. Recorded by Dan Angel, the album captures the heaviest version of Nyxy Nyx yet, featuring collaborators like: Brian Reichert, Tim Jordan, Benjamin Schurr, Alex Ha, Madeline Johnston, and Josh Meakim.
