In her own words, Odie Leigh describes "Already (On My Mind)" as a reflection on the beginning of a relationship, highlighting the confusion and excitement that come with it. She says:
I wanted the verses and chorus to almost feel like different songs. We kept the verses simple and driving to reflect the groundedness of being with another person and feeling secure, and made the choruses lofty and vibrant to capture the feeling of the spiraling uncertainty.
Leigh's commitment to authenticity is evident in her music, as she blends various musical elements, including the prominent use of trumpet, to create a full, fun, and welcoming sound. Produced by Derek Ted and Odie Leigh herself, "Carrier Pigeon" is a testament to Leigh's ability to capture specific moments and feelings through her songwriting. The album, released on Mom + Pop, has been eagerly anticipated with singles like My Name On A T-Shirt, Conversation Starter, Either Way, and No Doubt generating buzz since January. To celebrate the album's release, Odie Leigh will embark on her Carrier Pigeon Tour, as well as a performance at this year's Outside Lands Festival in San Francisco, CA.
