A creative lull can feel like a band has reached a rest nobody remembered to count. Radio Free Alice break the silence on Big Ideas. This time by starting with the guitar riff, setting the bassline underneath it, and inviting Rachel Brown of Water From Your Eyes into the conversation. The result becomes a call-and-response where one voice states the phrase and another changes its temperature. Meanwhile the rhythm section keeps both speakers inside the same brain. Radio Free Alice explain why Brown’s voice became the right answer:

From early on we felt that a second vocal would work well with the song, a kind of call and response. We had loved Water From Your Eyes for years, and had gone to their show when they came to Melbourne. We felt like Rachel would be perfect, they have such an interesting, distinctive voice.

"Big Ideas" appears on the band’s debut album What’s In Between, arriving October 30 through Atlantic Records. Peter Katis, Ewan Pearson, and Finn Billingham share production credits across continents, while photographer Jerry Hsu shapes the album’s visual frame. The song first reached an audience at a free DIY pop-up outside NOON Projects in Los Angeles, and footage from that Chinatown performance became its official video. Before their next run of shows pre-order "What’s In Between" and watch "Big Ideas." Follow Radio Free Alice on Bandcamp, Instagram, Spotify, YouTube, and Apple Music.
