Pressure doesn’t always explode. Instead, it tightens over time. Oklahoma City four-piece Some Fear translate that slow burn into sound, channeling financial strain into something heavy and unshakable. On I Don’t Want To Spend My Money, it’s not just frustration—it’s the feeling of being stuck inside a system that refuses to bend. The single confronts class disparity head-on, built on churning guitars and patient slowcore textures. Branden “Bran” Palesano’s delivery cuts through the haze with blunt honesty, capturing the weight of living paycheck to paycheck while others exist untouched by that reality. The song carries a sense of exhaustion which never fully lifts, with Palesano explaining:

This song is about the evil billionaires and companies living off of us like the blood-sucking vampires they are. While we live paycheck to paycheck, they get to live lavishly and abundantly. Makes you want to stay inside and not spend a dime.

The track introduces their upcoming sophomore album Word Eater, arriving April 24 via Rite Field Records. Expanding beyond their lo-fi beginnings, the band leans into a more textured and deliberate sound. Following their self-titled debut and a steady rise through the underground scene, Some Fear continue to sharpen their voice without losing its raw edge.
