Setting the tone for his upcoming album JoyRide, Steve Poltz opens the door wide with Love A Little Bigger. The track, co-written with longtime friend Vince Herman, captures Poltz at his most unfiltered, all rowdy, funny, and strangely hopeful all at once. "Love A Little Bigger" origin is loose and impulsive as its spirit of celebrating the mess. The result is a banger that feels like the spontaneous energy Poltz has built a career on. Describing a process, Poltz said:

Vince Herman from Leftover Salmon came over to my house one afternoon and as we were walking upstairs, I started singing this chorus I had just made up. Vince looked at me and said, ‘What is that?’ and I told him, ‘I don’t know – it’s like I’m speaking in tongues.’ Next thing you know, we started turning it into a murder song that was somehow also hopeful. We ended up using the same rhythm section from the other tracks, and Vince sings a wicked harmony. This one’s a banger.

A new single arrives as a signal flare for "JoyRide," his 14th solo album and first full-length in nearly four years. "JoyRide" was recorded at 3Sirens in East Nashville with producer Dex Green, yielding a sharp-witted, high-spirited set. The album also includes standouts like If It Bleeds, It Leads and Fixin’ Up, a co-write with Jim Lauderdale and Skip Black. Steve Poltz hits the road for a marathon run and his 17th Annual 50th Birthday Bash at Solana Beach’s Belly Up.
