“We wanted to write ourselves off the map by doing the unexpected thing.” Beloved indie-pop duo Tennis releases their final studio album, Face Down In The Garden, via their own label, Mutually Detrimental. Produced and recorded in their Denver home studio, the husband-and-wife pair, Patrick Riley and Alaina Moore craft an emotionally rich and sonically confident swan song. Blending Brill Building melodies, synth-pop subtleties, and rock undertones, the album is both a return to roots and a departure into the unknown. As the curtain closes on a 15-year journey, Tennis offers their most fully realized body of work yet. Reflecting on the road to this release, Moore shares:
Patrick and I felt out of sync with the world... My response was to bury myself in my own memories. We have said everything we wanted to say and achieved everything we wanted to achieve with our band.

Despite personal setbacks and surreal detours during the making of the album, "Face Down In The Garden" thrives on resilience, memory, and the grace of letting go. The release of “12 Blown Tires” earlier this month marked the beginning of the duo’s bittersweet goodbye. Announcing an indefinite hiatus, Tennis fans will have one last chance to see the band live as they embark on their farewell headline tour, kicking off May 16 in Las Vegas. Catch them on the road for one final, unforgettable ride.
