Time doesn’t rewind, it answers back. After nearly two decades of silence, The Academy Is… reemerges with Almost There, their first new album in 18 years. Arriving March 27, 2026, the record captures a band reconciling who they were with who they’ve become. The lead single 2005 opens the door with shimmering synths, driving guitars, and a sense of reflection. This track is an emotional checkpoint for what's about to be set to motion. Anchoring the release is vocalist William Beckett, whose delivery on 2005 balances urgency with perspective. The band’s evolved chemistry, had Beckett saying:

Almost Here was the beginning. Almost There is the reflection. It’s about checking in with who you thought you’d be twenty years later, seeing what changed, what stuck, and what still feels like home.

Across the album’s 11 tracks, pop-punk immediacy expands into patient, textured songwriting, shaped by guitarist Mike Carden, bassist Adam Siska, and drummer Andy Mrotek. The release lands amid the momentum of the Almost Here 20th Anniversary Tour, where sold-out rooms and expanded dates underscore the band’s lasting imprint. "Almost There" converses the past Into the anthemic core that first defined The Academy Is…. Stream "2005," watch the official video, and pre-save the album now.
