The emotional glow pulses through Promise, doesn't fade. The striking debut single from New York City alt-rock trio People I’ve Met, captures heartbreak in real time. Produced alongside Noah Conrad, the single finds Moses Martin, Orlando Wiltshire, and Andrew Suster channeling the emotional fallout of a breakup into melodic clarity. Shaped by airy vocals, spectral synths, and a cinematic sense of tension, the band showcases a sound rooted in intimacy, atmosphere, and instinct. From ghostlike guitars to a stark piano outro, the track drifts between quiet reflections and the flicker in new colors when you try to outrun them. Adding depth to a track that shifts through hues of longing and regret, Martin shares:

Sometimes I associate songs with colors, and to me this one felt like a sort of rainbow.

As Wiltshire reflects on its slow creation, he notes that “Promise” didn’t emerge quickly. Instead, it evolved alongside lived experiences and its companion video mirrors that evolution. It's a monochrome nighttime New York transforming into bursts of saturated color as the chorus hits, following the trio through subway platforms and restless city streets. Shot with a kinetic, almost documentary-like sensibility, the visual highlights their natural camaraderie. That same foundation of a creative bond which began in adolescence and solidified through years of playing together in school bands, garages, and eventually supporting Royel Otis tour dates. People I’ve Met step into their new era with confidence, vulnerability, and unmistakable chemistry. Watch “Promise” and experience the band’s first official release.
