The Inspector Cluzo Keep Independence Loud On "Journey Men"

The Inspector Cluzo do not separate their music from the way they live. Journey Men is a straight-ahead reminder of that, powered by Laurent Lacaze on guitar and vocals and Mathieu Jourdain on drums. You can hear the years of shows in the timing: the pauses land, the guitar stays sharp, and the drums push without crowding the song. Their tenth album, Less Is More, was recorded live in Nashville with producer Vance Powell, and the track hits with the force of two people who know exactly how much sound they can make. The same discipline carries into this performance. After more than 1,300 shows across 67 countries, the duo still plays like the room has to be won from the first note.
What makes the band’s independence believable is that it is operational, not promotional. The Inspector Cluzo have released ten albums through their own F.TheBassPlayer Records while continuing to run their organic family farm in Gascony. Music, touring, and farming all answer to the same idea: keep control of the work and accept the responsibility that comes with it. Their 32-date North American run begins September 18 in Charlotte, reaches Shaky Knees Festival in Atlanta the next day, and closes October 31 in Charleston.
