Time has a way of changing both people and the songs they carry with them. After nearly a decade between full-length releases, Fraternal Twin return with Medicine, a deeply personal preview of Halo Fell Forever, arriving September 4. Wrapped in hazy guitars, steady rhythms, and emotionally weighty melodies, the single explores the difficult journey of finding yourself after years of anxiety and uncertainty. In the visuals directed by Nara Avakian, there is a journey through nostalgic visuals, drifting between memory and hope, making every frame feel like another step toward healing. Bandleader Tom Christie reflects:
'Medicine' is a very special song to me and my favorite on the record—it has a lot to do with anxiety, rumination, and deciding to get on antidepressants, hence the title. It’s about me wanting to reconnect with the person I remembered being years ago and lost somewhere along the way during a long bout with clinical depression. I’m happy to say I’ve found him again: ‘I’ll know it when I see him / My spirit guide from the photographs.’ I am forever thankful for this song.
Produced by Dan Howard, "Halo Fell Forever" marks Fraternal Twin's first album in ten years, capturing both the uncertainty of the past and the peace that follows personal growth. Earlier single Solitude introduced listeners to that introspective landscape, and "Medicine" expands it with even greater emotional depth. The band will celebrate the release with shows in New York City, Kingston, and Philadelphia before joining Ditch for a U.S. tour beginning August 7 at Purgatory in Brooklyn.
