The world of Tyler Ramsey and Carl Broemel invite listeners into In The Willows, the latest offering from their forthcoming collaborative album Celestun. A stark yet intricately woven instrumental, the track showcases the duo’s uncanny chemistry with Ramsey’s nimble fingerpicking intertwining seamlessly with Broemel’s classically trained finesse. Throughout "Celestun," the guitarists lean into an instrumental language beyond words, echoing the lineage of icons like John Fahey, Clarence White, Leo Kottke, and Michael Hedges. Reflecting on the piece’s emotional pull, Ramsey shares:
The mood that Carl’s playing added to the song captures me every time I hear it. I asked my daughter to name it for me and ‘In the Willows’ was the perfect title!
As Broemel describes it:
Sometimes the guitars write the songs for you… it kind of comes out of the guitar more than out of my brain.

“In The Willows” follows a string of early tracks, Elizabeth Brown, Sail Away, Celestun, and Nevermind, each revealing another facet of the duo’s synergy. Conceived remotely during the pandemic and later completed in person at Broemel’s Nashville home studio, the album captures the quiet alchemy that first sparked when Band Of Horses toured with My Morning Jacket in 2012. Ramsey and Broemel return to that spark to create a sound that feels rustic, meditative, and deeply alive. Following the album’s release, the pair will embark on their 26-city Celestun Tour, beginning January 16 at the 30A Songwriters Festival in Santa Rosa Beach. Listen to “In The Willows” now and pre-save "Celestun" as the duo prepares to bring their spellbinding sound to the road.
