Union Specific Press Beautiful Mistakes Into "Synth Country Vol. 1"

Union Specific take twelve country classics and give the traditional sound some electronic company on Synth Country Vol. 1 – Deluxe Edition. The Austin group combines synthesizers, drum-pad samples, keyboards, pedal steel, and Western instrumentation all into one. Singer and songwriter Tyler Wallace began developing the concept during the pandemic through weekly Twitch broadcasts built around some of his favorite country songs from the 1960s through the 1990s. Recording the project over two days with close friends, Gil Trynthall and Sturgill Simpson provide useful reference pointsto that live starting point. The production choices are unusual, yet the songs remain recognizable. Wallace had this to say:
It’s not a perfect record. But those are beautiful little mistakes.
The deluxe vinyl and digital edition arrives November 5, with Game Over (You Fools) introducing the expanded release. A newly recorded bonus track inspired by Nanci Griffith gives the album another connection to the songwriting Wallace values. The newly mastered vinyl also fits the project because the performances were never supposed to sound mechanically perfect. The press photography by Jono Ruelas and the album artwork support the same meeting of country tradition and electronic presentation.
