Some songs never stop growing, they simply find new stages to tell their story. Baby Snakes & The Electric Co. revisit their debut single, Dark Horse, within the very room where the song first came to life. With a stirring live studio performance filmed inside Modern Electric Sound Recorders, that full-circle setting gives the performance an unmistakable authenticity. The session doesn't dwell on nostalgia, but shows a band that already feels locked allowing the band's chemistry to shine in despite only a handful of performances together. As Jeff Saenz explains:
Recorded and filmed in the same room 'Dark Horse' was born, it’s a snapshot — a glimpse into what this band actually is. As a band, we’d only played three shows together at that point, and only one of those with the full lineup. When we recorded these songs, we tracked them mostly live, and I wanted to show the world that energy and the connection we have created. Who knows what this could be like once we’re 100+ shows deep.
This offering is an early glimpse of the live energy driving Ouroboros, their debut album arriving October 23 via Spaceflight Records. Through the annual High Voltage, Good Vibes fundraiser, Saenz and his longtime collaborators have transformed the anniversary of his life-altering 2021 burn accident into a celebration of resilience and community. This year's event is expected to raise another $10,000 for Camp I-Thonka-Chi through the Parkland Foundation, helping provide meaningful experiences for young burn survivors. With "Ouroboros" on the horizon, a growing live lineup, and a mission rooted in giving back, Baby Snakes & The Electric Co. are proving that some of the most inspiring stories are written by continuing to move forward.
