Beatrix new single Dead Dog transforms betrayal into a blistering act of reclamation, turning a decade-old heartbreak into a rock-charged confrontation all at once. Fueled by adrenaline, raw vocals, and the sting of a metaphor she never forgot, the track erupts with a thunderous honesty that feels both unhinged and unforgettable. What began as a slow, simmering idea becomes a full-throttle exorcism. The defiant spirit behind “Dead Dog” turns an ex’s careless comparison into a battle cry. Beatrix shares how the original version was lower and slower, until she pushed her voice into a higher register that unlocked the song’s true bite. The moment she belted the chorus in the studio, both collaborators Philip Etherington and Ehren Ebbage lifted their phones to record, sensing they were witnessing something seismic. Beatrix shared:

It was originally much lower and slower. I resisted the change but it was definitely the right move. When I belt the higher parts it’s so much more powerful and angry. At one point while recording this vocal I looked up and Philip and Ehren were both filming me. Ehren said ‘in case I am witnessing a moment in rock history.’ That’s how it felt to sing it — like I was getting out all of the rage inside of me.

The official music video heightens the intensity, a thrilling release of pent-up fury that cements Beatrix as one of alt-pop’s most explosive new storytellers. Directed by Rogue Bonaventura, the visual twists classic teen-movie heartbreak into something darker and spellbinding. After recently signing to Nice Life Recording Company and performing with a full 7-piece band at School Night LA, Beatrix will bring this ferocious new chapter to the stage when she opens for Anson Seabra at The Troubadour on November 20th. Keep your eyes on Beatrix as she’s officially entering her no-apologies era on Instagram, Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, and TikTok.
