How do you see the music industry changing this year?

I think we will continue to see an emphasis on singles coming out more often rather than album projects. I think the full album promotion cycle is dead and has moved towards a steady stream of music so that listeners can better discover your work.

What's the most unexpected place you've found musical inspiration?

Literally everywhere! inspiration can strike you at any moment, in any place. I’ve been inspired in the most mundane situations and also in the most incredible moments.

What's your favorite anthem of all time?

Queen's Don’t Stop Me Now - it’s just a driving track that always feels good to me and really, it's how I live my life!

What's your favorite song to perform live?

Currently putting the new show together and I feel that I’m Still Standing will be one that I really enjoy. It’s become my anthem and mantra.

How do you come up with new song titles?

Sometimes the title inspires the song and sometimes after a song is written, I’ll go through and either pick out a line that really resonates or the part of the hook that people will remember. For example, the song Sweet Surrender was a title that I had and I wrote the song based on that idea.

How do you choose which songs make it onto an album?

Sometimes I’ll have a rough idea of what I want the album to convey thematically but more often after finishing a batch of songs, I see which songs fit together to tell a story that I want to share and that’s what becomes the album.

What's your favorite part of performing at festivals?

The energy of bigger audiences of course and having the chance to expose the music to new audiences and picking up new fans.

What's your favorite collaboration you've done so far?

Definitely my song Sweet Surrender  - working with the musicians down at Royal recording with Boo Mitchell, and some of the legendary players from all those classic Al Green Sessions.

If you were a racecar, what brands would be sponsoring you?

Eataly, Versace, Tazo Tea and Clase Azul.

Where can people connect with you and would you share an exclusive record with CEL?

Of course I would !

You can connect with me on YouTube, Instagram, FaceBook, Tik Tok and my website:
