Are there specific venues or festivals you dream of performing at in the future?
Not gonna lie I'm trying to play Dreamville Fest, Lyrical Lemonade's Summer Smash, Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza & Governor's Ball. Venue wise I wanna play State Farm Arena in ATL and Barclays in BK. It's a lot of festivals I can't think of right now too.
How has your musical style evolved since you started, and where do you see it going in the future?
It became more mature and relatable. I went into all types of sounds and although my substance hasn't changed as far as what I'm pushing, my range expanded to all sub genres. I don't really know where it's headed but my path is to tour, do shows all over, connect with my fans and continue leaving an influence. Want my legacy be my worth.
How do you engage with your fan base, and what kind of relationship do you aim to build with them?
For a year straight I spoke to my fans every day. During quarantine when we was all inside that was the only right thing to do. Majorly of my fans being overseas like Kenya, Greece, Sydney, Nigeria, and many other European and African countries. Actually getting to know them see what their goals and visions consists of and holding each other accountable.
Can you share a bit about your experience with music education and its impact on your career?
I would say music education and music theory go hand in hand. My education being my learning of the industry, how music is being delievered, pushed, and consumed. With music theory just learning how to create music as far as structure, substance and execution. I would say the impact strengthened my determination and openness to adapt for my career sake.
What are your thoughts on the role of nostalgia and retro influences in contemporary music?
Nostalgia rules in the music industry. Whether it's samples, references or reminiscent sounds it just unifies the gaps of each generation that listens to music. Like sample drill, or a good beat with a vocal sample from old school jazz to neo-soul you know like Erykah Badu. I could go on.
Are there any specific causes or messages that you are passionate about and incorporate into your music?
Yea, my main message is pretty much just motivation. Each of my songs have a driving force behind it that stems from motivation from something. I love to talk about the ups and downs of coming up in life, spirituality, financial stability but also love and pain. Elevation always.
What's your take on the importance of live performances versus studio recordings in building a music career?
See personally speaking my music come up was really from my live performances and shows. I realized I'm a show and visual type of artist. I've mastered the art of live shows, but it took me years to know how to properly record. Delivery, cadence, all that. I think you need both; when the music is great people want to see it live. And as an artist and fan of music I'd love to see the artist actually perform. Too much karaoke and lip singing on stage going on.
How do you adapt to changes and trends in the music industry while staying true to your artistic vision?
Going back to my music education, I learn something NEW every day. It's a lot to digest especially in these times where the trends or courses start changing again. It doesn't stop me from my artistry though. For me it's just okay this is how music fans are engaging and consuming music let's play the game but with my own controller. How I play is what makes me stand out.
Lastly, what legacy or impact do you hope to leave through your music?
I just want people to feel love, inspiration, highs and even lows. I want to leave off with the fact the fans and critics recognized me as the one that kept pushing and stayed solid.
What are you bringing to the cookout and where can fans connect with you at?
