Four-and-a-half decades after helping define the sound and spectacle of hard rock, Mötley Crüe is celebrating its 45th anniversary with a series of limited-edition collector releases and a major North American tour that revisits one of the band's most celebrated live productions.
Leading the anniversary campaign is Crücial Crüe 1981–1989, a deluxe retrospective available through BMG. The collection arrives as the band prepares to launch The Return Of The Carnival Of Sins Tour, their first full North American tour in three years, beginning July 17.

Revisiting The Albums That Built A Legacy
Available as a five-LP picture disc box set, a five-CD replica edition, and an ultra-limited 250-copy Crüeseum exclusive, "Crücial Crüe 1981–1989" brings together the band's first five studio albums—the records that established Mötley Crüe as one of rock's defining acts of the 1980s.
The collection includes:
Too Fast for Love (1981)
Shout at the Devil (1983)
Theatre of Pain (1985)
Girls, Girls, Girls (1987)
Dr. Feelgood (1989)
Together, these albums produced enduring rock anthems including Live Wire, Looks That Kill, Home Sweet Home, Girls, Girls, Girls, Wild Side, Dr. Feelgood, and Kickstart My Heart—songs that remain staples of the band's live performances more than four decades later.
The anniversary celebration will continue later this year with Crüe 45 RPM – The Singles Collection, an ultra-limited series of collectible 10-inch vinyl releases available exclusively through the Crüeseum.

The Return Of Carnival Of Sins
The anniversary extends beyond collectible releases as Mötley Crüe heads back on the road with a reimagined version of its landmark 2006 Carnival Of Sins Tour. The 33-city North American run spans July through September and introduces an updated production and refreshed setlist while celebrating the twentieth anniversary of the original tour.
The band is also pairing the tour with philanthropy through the Mötley Crüe Giveback Initiative, donating one dollar from every ticket sold to ASAP! (After School Arts Program), supporting students through hands-on music and arts education.

Still Embedded In Popular Culture
Few rock catalogs continue to appear across modern media as consistently as Mötley Crüe's. In recent months, "Home Sweet Home" has been featured in promotional material for the upcoming film Bus Boys, while "Kickstart My Heart" continues its second consecutive year as the official theme of the INDYCAR Race Series. The band's music has also appeared during the NFL Draft and throughout the NHL Playoffs, reinforcing the continued cultural relevance of songs first released decades ago.
That longevity has become one of the defining aspects of Mötley Crüe's legacy. With more than 100 million albums sold worldwide, billions of streams, and decades of influence spanning music, film, television, and sports, the band continues to bridge generations of rock fans.
As the 45th anniversary celebration unfolds, Mötley Crüe isn't simply looking back on its catalog—it is reaffirming why those records continue to resonate. Between collector editions, a nationwide tour, and continued visibility across contemporary media, the Crüe's legacy remains firmly plugged into popular culture.
