Behind The Lens: "Soulshine Benefit Concert" For Hurricane Relief, Goose Makes Monumental Madison Square Garden Debut!


 

For the first time in their decade-long journey, Goose graced the legendary Madison Square Garden stage, captivating a sold-out audience at the Soulshine Benefit Concert. The event, spearheaded by the Dave Matthews Band, was dedicated to supporting Hurricane Helene relief efforts in Western North Carolina. Goose’s electrifying performance alongside iconic acts like Warren Haynes Band, Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats, and special guests including Derek Trucks, Susan Tedeschi, and Robert Randolph, showcased the jam community’s unparalleled camaraderie and purpose. Opening their set with an electric rendition of Arcadia, Goose commanded the room with their signature tight grooves and heartfelt delivery. The audience roared with appreciation as the band embraced the iconic venue's grandeur.

Pedal steel maestro Robert Randolph joined them for a transcendent version of Give It Time, blending musical worlds into a soulful tapestry that highlighted Randolph’s evocative artistry. The night elevated further as Derek Trucks infused Goose’s breakout single Hungersite with his incendiary slide guitar brilliance, creating a searing moment of sonic synergy. Susan Tedeschi’s arrival on stage brought a soulful depth to The Band’s Don’t Do It, her harmonies with Rick Mitarotonda weaving a rich, emotional narrative. Dave Matthews joined Goose for a poignant cover of Bruce Hornsby’s The Way It Is, marked by Peter Anspach’s riveting keyboard solo that had Matthews himself dancing along. The synergy between Goose and their iconic collaborators turned the performance into a celebration of shared creativity, filling Madison Square Garden with palpable joy.

The evening closed with a high-energy set by the Dave Matthews Band, culminating in a star-studded encore of The BeatlesCome Together, uniting all performers onstage in a powerful finale of harmony and hope. Goose’s Madison Square Garden debut marked another milestone in their meteoric rise, underpinned by their dedication to musical exploration and a loyal fan base.
