Behind The Lens: The Game Isn't Over As SAW V, SAW VI & SAW VII Make The Jump To 4K
Want to play a game? This November, Lionsgate is reopening three particularly bloody chapters from the SAW franchise as SAW V, SAW VI, and SAW VII make their way to 4K UHD + Blu-ray + Digital for the first time in these new editions.
Arriving together on November 10, 2026, the releases revisit the era when Detective Mark Hoffman, played by Costas Mandylor, steps deeper into Jigsaw's twisted legacy. Each edition includes both theatrical and extended/unrated cuts, legacy bonus material, and newly produced Blu-ray features looking back at the making of the films.
Hoffman Inherits Jigsaw's Games
Picking up after SAW IV, 2008's 'SAW V' follows FBI Agent Peter Strahm (Scott Patterson) as his suspicions increasingly point toward Hoffman. While five strangers struggle through another interconnected series of deadly tests, Hoffman fights to keep his relationship with Jigsaw buried and his place within the legacy secure.
'SAW VI' pushes that succession even further. With Strahm dead and the FBI closing in, Hoffman launches another game targeting health insurance executive William Easton (Peter Outerbridge) while carrying out one of Jigsaw's final personal wishes. By 'SAW VII,' the battle surrounding Jigsaw's legacy reaches another level as survivor and self-help guru Bobby Dagen (Sean Patrick Flanery) discovers that secrets surrounding his own story come with gruesome consequences.
Together, the three films capture a transitional stretch of the franchise. Tobin Bell's Jigsaw remains the philosophical shadow hanging over every game, but Hoffman increasingly becomes the physical force keeping that ideology alive—whether his methods remain faithful to John's vision or twist it into something else entirely.
Three Bloody Chapters Get A 4K Upgrade
The new releases give collectors access to both cuts of each film alongside upgraded presentations and Dolby Atmos audio for the extended versions. The collection also digs back into the machinery behind the traps with commentaries, behind-the-scenes footage, interviews, deleted material, featurettes, trailers, and archival extras.
There are new additions, too. 'SAW V' includes "Establishing Shot With Director David Hackl" and "Everybody Deserves A Chance: David Hackl On SAW V," while 'SAW VI' adds "The Murders Continue: Kevin Greutert On SAW VI." Greutert returns for 'SAW VII' with the new "Will You Survive Until the End?” feature, alongside deleted and extended scenes, 52 Ways to Die, music videos, interviews, and more.
For longtime fans, that makes these releases more than another opportunity to watch the traps snap shut. They provide a chance to revisit the filmmakers responsible for one of SAW's most important transitions and hear them reflect on these chapters more than fifteen years after their original releases.

'SAW V,' 'SAW VI,' and 'SAW VII' represent a particularly chaotic period in Jigsaw's mythology—one filled with apprentices, betrayals, investigations, increasingly elaborate traps, and the question of who truly deserves to continue John's work.
