Some songs are recorded first and tested later. BLEECH 9:3 did some of that work in reverse with Tourniquet by letting the record sweat through their 2026 festival run before officially setting it loose. The Dublin-born, London-based four-piece push sharp melody against thick distortion, giving the track enough abrasion to hit hard without burying the songwriting underneath it. Barry Quinlan and Sam Duffy first met through a 12-step recovery program in Dublin before their shared experiences and creative ambitions developed into songwriting, eventually bringing bassist James Quinlan and drummer Luke O’Neill into the fold. Tension has become increasingly important to the band’s identity, and producer Dan Carey alongside mixer Rich Costey help "Tourniquet" retain the rough edges which make it feel alive.

After performances at Reading & Leeds and Electric Picnic, the song arrived with listeners already waiting for it, then earned an introduction as Jack Saunders’ Hottest Record in the World on BBC Radio 1. Now "Tourniquet" becomes more than a crowd favorite, it is the first look toward the newly announced debut album, "Bleed." Even those titles feel connected: one attempts to stop the bleeding while the other seems ready to let everything out. Their entire fall headline run—including London’s Electric Ballroom—has already sold out, while 2027 brings the group stateside for Mercury Lounge in New York on January 21 and The Echo in Los Angeles on February 3.
