Boston-based seven-piece Couch return with a bright, self-reflective single from their much-anticipated debut album Big Talk, out October 24. On The Wire continues to showcase the band’s signature chemistry with an intoxicating mix of moody nostalgia and explosive joy. Bursting with horn-driven grooves and sticky hooks “On The Wire” blends retro-soul textures with indie pop energy. Following a whirlwind rise from bedroom demos to opening for Lake Street Dive and Cory Wong, Couch made their national television debut on CBS Saturday Sessions. Couch is offering listeners a candid portrait of accountability and self-discovery. Vocalist Tema Siegel shared:

I reflect on how unfair I can be toward the people I love when they do something I dislike. Instead of exploding, I tend to grow impatient, take things personally, and prickle—leaving those closest to me feeling like they’re on thin ice. Only afterward do I realize how unfair I’ve been. Though the lyrics describe being upset with others, the real frustration is with myself. The chorus is me calling myself out for being dramatic and intense.

Mastered by Colin Leonard, "Big Talk" is Couch’s formal introduction: a vibrant, horn-soaked, soul-inflected debut exploring multidimensional love—romantic, platonic, and self-reflective. Alongside “On The Wire” and the bold first single What Were You Thinking, the album perfectly captures lived experiences. Couch will now take "Big Talk" on a 36-city international tour across North America, the UK, and Europe, with marquee stops at Brooklyn Steel, the 9:30 Club, and The Fonda. Stream “On The Wire” and pre-save Big Talk. Connect with Couch on INSTAGRAM, YOUTUBE, TIKTOK, TWITTER/X, FACEBOOK, SOUNDCLOUD, and BANDCAMP.
