Nashville-based trio Deltona deliver a fiery, midtempo track that flips the breakup script. How To Not Help A Heartbreak is equal parts grit and wit, reminding us that sometimes the worst coping strategies make for the best songs. Produced by Jason Massey and co-written with Jacob Scherer and platinum hitmaker Canaan Smith, the track builds from smoldering verses into a soaring chorus filled with bourbon-soaked regret and late-night mistakes. Pairing Ned Abernathy’s raw vocals, Caleb Miller’s searing guitar licks, and Chris Deaton’s stomping drums, the single blends Southern storytelling with playful self-deprecation. The band shared:
It’s one of those songs that feels real because we’ve all been there—making bad decisions and knowing full well we’re just making it worse. It’s a breakup song with a little edge, telling the story of how you just can’t seem to get out of your own way. We can’t wait for you to hear this one!

By the bridge, Miller’s guitar solo and Deaton’s pounding rhythms push the heartbreak into full-throttle catharsis—cementing Deltona’s spot as a fresh force in modern country-rock. Accompanied by a chalkboard-styled lyric video that leans into its tongue-in-cheek theme. “How To Not Help A Heartbreak” marks Deltona’s third release following “Love Don’t Love Me” and their debut Heartbreak Fix. With nearly 14K TikTok followers and recent live slots opening for Rodney Atkins, George Birge, Cooper Alan, and Avery Anna, the trio have quickly established themselves as rising stars.
